[Newsletter #4] Verustruct's Stellar Month of Progress – August 2025 Update

Verustruct is developing a suite of novel construction robotics to deliver affordable, sustainable, safe, and beautiful housing, starting with our patent-pending translational slip form (TSF) device.

Builders of the Future,July was a high-impact month for Verustruct, marked by major technical milestones, operational wins, and strong fundraising traction.

Our team delivered across the board – advancing IP, building out core technology, and positioning the company for the next stage of growth. Below, you’ll find key highlights, a deep dive into our latest tech progress, intern spotlights, and a preview of what’s ahead.

Key Highlights

  • Tech Milestone: Designed and tested the first iteration of our dynamic formwork subsystem for the full-scale TSF device.

  • IP Momentum: Continued working through 2× continuation patents building on our filed nonprovisional, enhancing device capabilities and automating more residential construction tasks.

  • Fundraising Traction: Continued investor discussions with exciting progress toward closing the round in the next few weeks.

  • Brand Readiness: Updated logo and filed trademarks in preparation for investment close.

  • Grant Win: Secured $20K from VentureWell Propel program; participating in two days of programming in Seattle this week.

  • Accelerator Success: Wrapping up Keel NYC Accelerator and Tsai CITY Summer Fellowship, bringing total funding from these programs to $170K.

Dynamic Formwork Testing

We’ve successfully designed, prototyped, and tested the first iteration of our dynamic formwork subsystem – a major milestone for our TSF device. The results validate key capabilities necessary for printing smooth walls and sharp corners with precision. This progress brings us closer to full-scale automated residential construction. See a quick animation below:

Intern Spotlights: Samira & Phil

Our summer team has been incredible, with Samira and Phil delivering standout contributions in July. Get to know these rising stars below!

Samira is a Yale SOM operations powerhouse, combining climate-tech experience, investor outreach chops, and founder-level hustle, who has already accelerated our hiring, fundraising, and ops infrastructure this summer. In July, Samira independently built a comprehensive hiring toolkit (job descriptions, scorecards, outreach plans, event calendar) and ahelped spearhead compensation model creation.

Samira Fun Fact: Samira has been growing and pickling cucumbers this summer, very similar to growing a young startup! Phil is a rising mechanical engineering talent from Yale with a deep passion for hands-on, iterative design and fabrication. Phil has been instrumental in July’s progress on the full-scale TSF device, collaborating closely with Kostas on critical design and manufacturing tasks. He helped design and test the first iteration of our dynamic formwork subsystem and produced the high-quality test video featured in this update.

Phil Fun Fact: Phil enjoys binging superhero movies in his spare time (Stark Industries x Verustruct?)

What's Next

We’re pushing hard on multiple fronts: advancing our technology, expanding our team, formalizing operations, and driving our fundraise toward close. Over the next 4 weeks, our key milestones include:

  • Dynamic Formwork Subsystem Refinement: Further testing and optimization of the TSF’s dynamic formwork, alongside development of material flow redirection systems and sealing mechanisms to ensure precise material flow to the TSF printing chambers..

  • Load-Bearing Wall Section Testing: Continued creation and testing of first-layer load-bearing wall sections with multiple cross-sections and material mixes tested to validate strength, code compliance, and print quality.

  • Customer Discovery & Software Progress: Ongoing developer and municipal conversations paired with back-end development for our automated house design-to-print software – a critical step toward fully integrated, on-site construction automation.

Our fundraising round is moving quickly, and we’re approaching the finish line. Reply to this email and I’ll share the latest updates!

Key Asks

We’re hiring! Know rockstar tech talent that wants to help us build the future of construction? Send them our way.

Any introductions to potential hires or connections in the industry would be extremely valuable, thank you!

Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re gaining serious momentum and are on track for major milestones ahead - the next few weeks will be pivotal. Stay tuned for our next updates in September, and don’t miss the chance to be part of what’s coming.
